Configuring the Backend
Point CodeProso at your Proso.ai instance and sign in.
CodeProso doesn’t store model API keys on your machine. Every request goes through your Proso.ai tenant, which handles model access, usage limits and billing.
Set the Backend URL
Open Settings → Backend and enter the URL of your Proso.ai instance.

Click Sign in. A browser window opens for you to log in with your Proso.ai account — including Microsoft Entra SSO if your organisation uses it. When you return to the app, the status shows Connected, along with your organisation and team.
What the backend controls
- Which models you see. The model list comes from your tenant.
- How much you can use. Team and personal token budgets are set by admins in AskProso.
- Which features are on. Admins can allow or block features per group.
Switching accounts or tenants
Use Settings → Backend → Sign out, change the URL if needed, then sign in again. Conversations stay on your machine and are tied to the project folder, not the account.
Checking the connection
If the status isn’t Connected:
- Confirm the URL opens in a browser and shows the Proso.ai sign-in page.
- If you’re on a corporate network, check that your proxy or VPN allows the backend domain.
